About Travel Pacific
Hotel Sofitel
Moorea, French Polynesia
I’m a Professional Travel Adviser with over 30 years travel industry experience, most of the time as President of a major tour operator. I’ve made dozens of trips to the South Pacific and I know many of the hotel managers and/or owners, have driven New Zealand tip to tip five times, and much of Australia. I’m a certified diver, amateur naturalist, and as a wine lover I’ve crossed my share of cellar doors in Australia and New Zealand.
I make my living helping people plan trips; often honeymoons, sometimes families, even singles, but nearly always adventures. Any travel agent can make a booking, you can do it yourself for that matter (although odds are you’ll make a mistake along the way), but the trips I plan take years of experience and a willingness to never stop learning.
Travel is transformative; you are changed by it and to some degree you change the places and people you visit; in a good way if you are responsible about it. See the Fijians with me in the photo nearby? They were born into poor villages, lacking the most basic services. But someone with money and a dream decided to build a small resort near that village and for rent they built the health clinic, they built the school and they pay for the teacher, and that allows the village children to grow up healthy and get educations so that now even they can go out and see the world. None of that happens if couples don’t go to Fiji for their honeymoons, and this same principle is at work all over the world.
What to Expect from Travel Pacific
When you contact me, I will set up a telephone conference to discuss your vacation needs and desires: destination(s), budget, time schedule/dates, activities your are interested in, and other important trip details. I will ask questions and offer suggestions as to what you might be interested in from your feedback.
Based upon our conversation and information you share, within a few days I will create a detailed and custom itinerary with a proposal/quote for you to review. If you have questions about your itinerary, I am available to discuss them with you via email or telephone. I will also work to make necessary modifications to your itinerary/proposal.
Once the proposal is accepted, airfare is booked and reservations become confirmed. (see our Terms)
Prior to departure, I set up a Webex video conference with you and all members of your party to go over the trip itinerary in detail. This is to ensure you all know what to expect at each stop on your trip.
When you are in destination, I am available 24/7 for you in case of hiccups in airline changes, weather cancellations, or other miscellaneous issues that may arise during travel.
I always welcome your feedback after your trip.
