We were most interested in seeing the unique sites and animals of Australia, and we wanted an authentic experience and the less crowds the better. Rick responded with great itineraries, and we felt that he had the best understanding of what we really wanted and he thought of accommodations and experiences we didn’t even know were possible….. Before the trip, Rick was very responsive to our emails, and set up a video conference 3 weeks before we left and walked us through the entire thing. This was very helpful since we were traveling to many locations throughout in a country we’ve never been to. He also mentioned extra stops we could take when driving from one place to the next, like Granite Gorge where we were able to feed rock wallabies. It was great to have our agent’s expertise on things like this, especially when it came to recommending the best hiking trails (he was always on point). We planned on very short notice – 2 weeks from inception until we left for Australia and New Zealand.  After a few tweaks, including a suggestion to alter the dates to avoid the crowds, we were booked in outstanding properties, and on a wide variety of tours.  All of the flights, transfers, tours and tips were planned at a relaxed pace so we really got to enjoy each destination.


Rick spent time with us prior to the trip to be sure we understood what to expect.  As a result, we had no surprises – only delights.  The fact that he has intimate knowledge of the properties and tour companies was very helpful.  We would strongly recommend him!

Both the trip and the travel agency were outstanding!  We were first-time visitors to New Zealand and Australia and Rick’s expertise in those locations added significantly to our fabulous experience.  Our trip consisted of several days in Auckland and Sydney on either end of a cruise.  From the transfers at airports, hotels in Auckland and Sydney, cruise ship cabin and tours, we were able to maximize what we were able to do and see.


Our agent was in a different state, but he conducted a 2-hour webinar with us just prior to our departure.  He highlighted the “must dos” for each port visit and in Auckland and Sydney.  The information was very helpful and helped us to make the most of our trip.

There were quite a few things that we knew we wanted to do, preferences for tours, etc. and Rick was able to work with us and make perfect suggestions based on our interests, and had zero problems changing around the initial itinerary.  We ended up with a perfect customized itinerary for our trip.   Every single hotel, tour, rental car, was planned perfectly.  As a planner myself, I know that some times ‘things can happen’ – a reservation lost, a tour cancelled, etc. Nope. My husband and I used Rick Garrett to plan our honeymoon.  We knew we wanted to go to New Zealand and we wanted to stop at a tropical location on the way, but weren’t sure which one.  He helped us personalize a trip that was perfect for us.  We ended up staying 5 nights in Fiji then spent two weeks traveling around New Zealand.  Once we told him our interests he helped plan the trip.  We did some amazing things that we didn’t even know were out that after having a quick conversation with him and described what kind of couple we are, he was able to personalize a perfect trip.  We went back and forth with some of the timing and activities to make it perfect.  He is so knowledgable on that side of the world, it was great.  He helped us figure out a reasonable budget + number of days to spend over there.  Once we were there, we had to get ahold of him for a few changes to the trip.  He was easy to reach, which was a huge relief.

We had a wonderful experience with this travel agency — highly recommend. We’d never used a travel agent for anything other than plane tickets, so this was a new experience for us. Rick put together a GREAT 3 1/2-week trip to French Polynesia (1 week) and New Zealand (2 1/2 weeks).


We appreciated Rick’s knowledge of the area; his ability to match our interests to where we should go; and his WebEx meetings and documents that go through all the details. The entire trip really “made sense” — how long we stayed in any one place; balance between busy days and less-busy days; etc. The hotels were top-notch; all the excursions were excellent.


Everything went exceedingly smoothly. Rick told us to call and confirm the excursions — only one didn’t have us down (on their end; not our agent’s). But because I had the vouchers, there was no problem.”
