Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park
Northern Territory
The Northern Territory “NT” is home to Uluru, formerly Ayers Rock, and now generally called The Red Centre, for in addition to Uluru, other nearby attractions include Kata Tjuta (the Olgas) and King’s Canyon. These sandstone formations are best seen up close after some hiking effort. The Red Centre can be accessed from Alice Springs. In the far north, also known as The Top End, is Darwin, gateway to Kakadu, Katherine’s Gorge, and Arnhem Land, a bird watcher’s paradise, and home to some of the finest examples of Aboriginal art.
