Nitmiluk Gorge winds along 7.5 miles of sheer rock extending more than 230 feet high. Consisting of 13 separate gorges that is a maze of waterways sculpted from the sandstone over countless millennia by the Katherine River. We offer a great variety of tours that allow you to immerse yourself in the history, rugged beauty and culture of this majestic region. Cruise, canoe, walk, fly, swim, and embrace Nitmiluk Gorge.
Tours
The colors of the early morning awaken as you emerge into the first gorge. See the mist rising above the smooth water’s surface, hear the wildlife stirring from the night and breathe the crisp clean air. This cruise will allow passengers to discover the unspoiled beauty of the morning – a truly memorable start to the day and a photographer’s dream.

2 Gorge Tour
On the Nit Nit Dreaming cruise you will discover the cultural significance of the first 2 gorges to the traditional landowners – the Jawoyn people. Enjoy a journey of discovery through the magnificent Nitmiluk Gorge.

3 Gorge Cruise
Prepare for a truly memorable experience as you travel through time and the 3 gorges of Nitmiluk Gorge. Marvel at the sheer rock face walls as the scenery becomes more striking as you head further into the Gorge. Freshen up with a swim and light refreshments before you return back to the Nitmiluk Boat Jetty.

Sunset Dinner Cruise
Sit back and relax as the tranquil surroundings transport you into a spiritual world of the Jawoyn culture and history. Discover the stories and ways of the Jawoyn people against the magnificent backdrop of the Nitmiluk Gorge, changing color with the setting sun. Tour includes a three course candlelight dinner, featuring fresh, local Australian produce cooked on board, and a complimentary glass of sparkling wine. Card and Cash bar available.

Canoe Trip
All canoe adventure tours begin with a scenic journey by boat through Nitmiluk’s first gorge before canoeists take to the waters to explore the second gorge and beyond. Tours are self guided and participants are required to carry their canoes between gorges should they wish to go further than the second gorge. All guests are asked to be at the jetty 30 minutes prior to departure.
This is a great way to explore the Nitmiluk Gorges according to your own itinerary and fitness level. Take in the diversity of the landscapes and habitats as you paddle your way through the gorges, a visual treat for any nature lover. Experienced canoeists will make it to the end of the 4th and 5th gorges, where there is Indigenous rock art and a picnic spot perfect for lunch or a refreshing swim.
