Located towards the southern end of Queensland, the Sunshine Coast is about 2 hour’s drive north of Brisbane. The region is known for its amazing weather and is perfect for an active vacation or a quiet and relaxing respite at any time of year. The town of Noosa contains no buildings higher than a tree. Some of its pristine beaches are great for swimming and others have great surf breaks.
Noosa’s Hastings Street is filled with restaurants and boutiques which are just a short stroll from the beach. In addition, Noosa National Park at the end of Hastings Street features gorgeous coastal terrain and an abundance of native Australian wildlife. The park also includes numerous walking trails with scenic views of the bush and coast.
The uncrowded beaches along the Sunshine Coast, including Marcus Beach, Sunrise Beach and Coolum Beach, have brilliant blue waters and pure white sand. Water sports such as fishing, jet-skiing, water-skiing, surfing, and sailing are all possibilities. Picturesque villages with shopping, restaurants and open-air markets are just outside of Noosa.
With its many activities, amazing weather and gorgeous scenery, the Sunshine Coast is a wonderful stop on your Australian vacation.
