This food and wine tour focuses on the McLaren Vale Wine area. McLaren Vale is situated 25 miles south of Adelaide. The rolling vine-covered hills feed over 50 small, very individual wineries. The Region’s wines are described as the “middle palate of Australia” because they produce soft full flavored wines.
On this tour, you will first travel through scenic hills via the picturesque town of Clarendon to Coriole winery. Coriole’s cellar door is a beautiful little ironstone cellar surrounded by magnificent views and gardens. They produce an outstanding range of wines, olives, olive oils, and cheeses with some exceptional wine styles unique to their winery. You may visit other small producers and enjoy this regions highlights, local foods and wine, of this exciting region. Some of the wineries you may visit include Samuels Gorge, Wirra Wirra and more boutique wineries. Lunch will be at the d’Arrys Veranda restaurant which is at is at the d’Arenberg winery where you will enjoy the sensational views over the McLaren Vale vineyards, or you can enjoy the scenic Currant Shed or alfresco under the vines picnic style. A Taste of South Australia works out what clients wine interests are so that they can tailor the individual tour to suit your needs. You will also be able to taste olives and cheeses on the Blessed Cheese trail.
