Board your vessel at the MONA Brooke Street Ferry Terminal and travel by high speed ferry to Mona. Enjoy a day of wine and art. The Museum of Old and New Art is Australia’s largest privately owned gallery and museum. Showcasing the diverse collection of its owner, Tasmanian gambler and maths nerd David Walsh, Mona exhibits everything from ancient Egyptian funerary objects to modernist masterpieces. The Mona site, perched on the banks of the River Derwent is also home to the Moorilla winery and vineyard. Arriving at Mona, begin your exploration of the underground galleries at your leisure. After your art binge, head to Mona’s top notch restaurant at 1:30 pm for a one course lunch of seasonal local produce, matched with a glass of Moorilla wine. After lunch take a behind the scenes tour of the winery and vineyard. Delve into Moorilla’s back story with your expert host and learn the finer points of old and new artisanal winemaking techniques. You will be treated to a tasting of a selection of Moorilla wines, including a selection from their prestigious Cloth Label series. Board the 5:00 pm ferry for the transfer back to Hobart.
