The Coromandel

The Coromandel is renowned for its pristine beaches, misty forests and a laid-back vibe, making it a popular destination for a New Zealand vacation. Not too far from Auckland, The Coromandel is everything that a big city isn’t. It has a mountainous native rainforest interior and more than 250 miles of beautiful beaches. There are many activities including fishing, diving, kayaking, hiking and cycling.

The Coromandel also offers a lot of attractions. Visit the Thames Coast with its mining museum, Pinnacles, and Hurakai Rail Trail. Kayak in Whitianga and Mercury Bay to see its beautiful Cathedral Cove. The surf town of Whangamata is nice year round and the Coromandel Forest Park and Tairua Forest are close by. Check out the gold mines and beaches of Waihi, cycle through the Karangahake Gorge alongside the Ohinemuri River, or enjoy the artisan inspired crafts in historic Coromandel Town. There is a lot to see and do on this beautiful peninsula.
