Hapuku Lodge Kaikoura
Hapuku Lodge was built to give all guests a great night’s sleep in one the most beautiful places in the world. Located 7 miles north of the world renowned eco-marine town of Kaikoura, Hapuku Lodge shares the land with a deer stud and olive grove, nestled between the Kaikoura Seaward Mountain Range and famed Mangamaunu Bay. A contemporary country luxury lodge, Hapuku Lodge offers luxurious lodge rooms, luxury Tree Houses, and a spacious stand-alone apartment. All rooms at Hapuku Lodge feature custom designed, hand crafted furniture, tailor-made beds and mattresses, heated towel rails and floors, rain drop showers, and individual balconies. Gorgeous views of snow capped mountains and surf washed coastline are seen from all rooms. The food at Hapuku Lodge is fresh, uncomplicated and flavorful, sourced whenever possible from their garden and other local organic farms and nearby waters.
There are many things to do at Hapuku Lodge. You can go mountain biking with the Lodge’s mountain bikes (and helmets). Or there are a variety of walks that can be taken from the Lodge, from short to long, beach to bush, with a picnic basket if desired, including a botanical tour of the local native bush. An ocean fishing trip can be arranged or take a short drive up the highway any time from December through May to experience the amazing sight of baby seals playing in the Oahu waterfall. You can also swim in the ocean, sit by the pool/sauna, have a massage, take a cooking class, help pick olives (May to June), learn to surf, watch the antler harvest of the farm’s stags, or just sit by the fire with a glass of wine.

Hapuku Room
The Hapuku Suite offers a large soaking tub, king bed and a balcony that looks over the farm’s deer grazing in paddocks adjacent to the Kaikoura mountains. It has a well appointed lounge and large bedroom set as king or twin beds. The sofa in the lounge can be converted to a single bed. The lightfilled Hapuku Room is beautifully furnished with fireplace, writing desk and private entrance.

Lodge Suite

Upper Branch Tree House

Treehouse
The Lodge’s three Tree Houses are unique, nested 33 feet or more above the ground in the canopy of a native Kanuka grove. The Tree Houses are designed to complement the natural environment, as your bedroom in the sky. Their large windows bring the tree canopies into the bedroom and provide impressive views of Kaikoura’s dramatic mountains and the Pacific Ocean.

Two Bedroom Apartment
The Lodge’s two “Family” Tree Houses have a master bedroom in the upper branches and a somewhat smaller bedroom in the lower branches and are nested 33 feet or more above the ground in the canopy of a native Kanuka grove. Olive House
The Olive House is a free standing building that originally housed an olive press. The floor above the pressing rooms was originally built as a one bedroom apartment and has been our most spacious accommodation. It is presently being renovated and by the summer 2017, will re-emerge as a beautiful three-bedroom apartment on two floors, with the ground floor bedroom handicapped accessible.
