Abel Tasman National Park
New Zealand’s smallest national park, Abel Tasman National Park, is perfectly and naturally created for both adventure and relaxation. You can enjoy this coastal paradise by hiking or you can explore it by boat, sailing catamaran, water taxi or sea kayak. Abel Tasman National Park offers a mix of physical activity with laid back beach life — spend time hiking or paddling and then take a break for sun bathing, swimming or snorkeling.
If you have time for it, the Abel Tasman Coastal Track takes between 3 to 5 days to finish. It is considered one of New Zealand’s ‘Great Walks.’ The track meanders through beautiful headlands, native forests and several gorgeous beaches. Even though The Track is doable at any time of the year, you will see lots of other hikers and visitors in the summer months. Guided group tours are available to enjoy the park and some would consider sleeping under the stars as the ultimate way to experience Abel Tasman.
