Located on the highway to Milford Sound, Fiordland Lodge offers the discerning traveller style, comfort and privacy, yet is only miles from the tourist township of Te Anau.
On forty acres of land, Fiordland Lodge is set on a superb site with commanding views out across Lake Te Anau. This is a rural setting with rolling grass lands surrounding the Lodge, Lake Te Anau being a mere ten minute walk away. Across the lake to the west lie the mountains of Fiordland National Park, an area of over three million acres of untouched wilderness and part of the much larger South West New Zealand World Heritage Area.
At Fiordland Lodge, a maximum of 29 guests are accommodated in 10 luxurious rooms in the Lodge and two separate self-contained loft-style Log Cabins. Accommodation features king-size beds, well-appointed private bathrooms and superb views, and the decor reflects the beautiful Fiordland landscape, focusing on muted natural colors and textures. All accommodation options have commanding views over Lake Te Anau, and external access out onto either the balcony upstairs, or the lawn downstairs.
Fiordland Lodge partners with local suppliers and farmers, cheesemakers, and other talented artisans, to create a dining experience that is unique to the area, both on the plate and throughout its restaurant environment. Guests will experience a connection to the land through dishes that focus on freshness, simplicity, and seasonal flavors.
Accommodation
Deluxe Lodge Room
Deluxe Lodge rooms are located on the 2nd floor with elevated views out across lake Te Anau and backdrops of the Murchison and Kepler Mountains. This room type has been recently refurbished and offers a more modern and contemporary look resulting in a bright, airy and sophisticated room, yet still offering that quiet escape and comfort. With more of a flare for the modern as well as the natural, Deluxe Lodge Rooms combine a mixture of contemporary and rustic elements to achieve a very comfortable room style. Ensuite bathrooms merge porcelain and swamp kauri with the latest bathroom conveniences.
Executive Guest Suite
The Executive Suite is located at the top of the Main Lodge and features tall windows that wrap round the suite letting Lake and mountains inside. Spacious and welcoming, the Executive Suite looks far out over the lake to the mountains and sky and features chunky feature beams, and relaxing spot lighting.
Inside the separate lounge offers a riverstone gas fireplace and a comfortable sitting area. The master bedroom uses earth colors and the Suite decor is muted natural tonings reflecting the landscape.
Bathrooms are beautifully fitted, with basins on New Zealand swamp Kauri, more natural tones, a jet spa bath and big wicker baskets.
The rate for the Executive Suite is for two people with complimentary mini-bar, A la Carte breakfast, pre-dinner cocktails, and daily changing dinner menu.
Lodge Room
Lodge rooms are located on the ground floor and are very comfortable. These rooms open out directly onto the lodge lawn and all have the same unimpeded views of Lake Te Anau and the surrounding mountains. 4 of the lodge rooms are interconnecting and ideal for families or 2 couples traveling together.
The decor reflects the landscape, with muted natural tonings and huge picture windows framing the lake. Top quality bedding, towels and toiletries add a sense of pampering. The ensuite bathrooms merge porcelain and swamp kauri with the latest bathroom conveniences.
The rate for the Lodge Room is for two people with A la Carte breakfast and daily changing dinner menu.
Log Cabin
Log Cabins are ideal for both families and couples.
Both Log Cabins are separate and private from the main lodge located 650 feet behind the main lodge itself. The cabins are on an elevated site with lovely views to the northwest across Lake Te Anau and to the mountains of Fiordland National Park. To the north and east, views are out across rural farm land. Both Cabins have been built with hand peeled sun dried New Zealand Oregon logs. Interior finishing is with recycled native New Zealand timber floors, ceilings, joinery and bench tops.
The Cabins sleep four and five, and guests staying in the Log Cabins have full use of all Lodge facilities.
The rates for Log Cabins is based on two people with A la Carte breakfast, pre-dinner cocktails, and daily changing dinner menu.
Each cabin is fitted with a quality queen-size bed downstairs, and on a mezzanine floor above one cabin has a twin room, and one has three single beds. These cabins have 1 bathroom each and are very private.
